About the Wallowa Valley Community Ice Rinkwallowa-valley-ice-hockey-blitz

The rink is one of only two public natural ice rinks in Oregon.  It’s known as the capital of “Baja Canada,” home of the coed hockey team the eh’s? and the women’s team the Ruby Peaks (now in hiatus due to too many cases of motherhood).

The ice rink was initiated by a group of volunteers in 2001. It is run by the Wallowa Valley Community Ice Rink Committee, a group of volunteers who oversee the operation of the rink. The committee operates under the umbrella of the Greater Enterprise Main Street group (GEMS), a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.  Contributions are tax deductible.

The Wallowa Valley Community Ice Rink is a result of a wonderful effort by many individuals, businesses and civic & government organizations.  It provides a great asset for the community at an operating budget of less than $10,000 a year and is managed by a part-time paid manager, under the supervision of the ice rink committee.  We welcome new members of the committee, as well as people willing to volunteer at the rink or on special projects.  If you’re willing to help out please email us.
